Hollow Knight: Silksong
Step into Hollow Knight: Silksong — Join Hornet’s fast, stylish adventure and conquer Pharloom with agility, precision, and fearless combat!
Hollow Knight: Silksong takes players on a new journey with Hornet, who is kidnapped from Hallownest and brought to the mysterious kingdom of Pharloom. This realm is built vertically, and Hornet must climb toward the Citadel to uncover the reason behind her capture and the truth behind the strange “silk blight” spreading across the land.
Gameplay
Silksong preserves the classic Metroidvania foundation but speeds up combat significantly. Hornet moves acrobatically, attacks with her needle and thread, quickly restores Silk, and unleashes powerful Silk Skills.
The game features over 150 new enemies and challenging bosses like Lace and the Bell Beast, ensuring fast-paced encounters that demand sharp reflexes.
Story Threads & Characters
The narrative unfolds across several chapters centered on ringing ancient bells to open the Citadel. Along her journey, Hornet meets characters like Shakra, clashes with Lace, and eventually confronts Grand Mother Silk.
Themes of legacy, destiny, and Hornet’s effort to “re-weave” her own fate take center stage. Multiple endings reward players who explore deeply.
Exploring the Vertical Kingdom
Pharloom is designed around vertical progression, featuring diverse areas such as Moss Grotto, Bone Bottom, and Songclave. Hidden paths, shortcuts, and secret rooms encourage exploration throughout the entire kingdom.
The Wishes quest system provides optional objectives without restricting freedom, giving each region its own unique story and purpose.
Custom Tools & Flexible Playstyles
Hornet’s abilities revolve around a three-color Tools system:
- Blue – defensive and support-oriented
- Yellow – exploration and mobility tools
- Red – high-damage tools with limited uses
The Crests mechanic lets you switch fighting styles, affecting movement speed, attack range, and the number of Tools you can equip. All these elements can be adjusted at Benches, which also serve as healing points and save stations.
